Step 1: Preparation:

All you need is your brush, your foam product and a bowl. Real professionals provide a shaving bowl, but a clean cup or cereal bowl from the kitchen will do.

Step 2: Foaming:

Wet your brush with warm water. Put your shaving soap in the bowl or add a small amount of shaving cream. Foam the product with circular movements until a firm and stable foam is formed. Be careful: if the brush is too wet, it will dilute your foam too much. So better start with less water in the brush bristles and add some more if needed.

Step 3: Lather:

Wash the areas to be shaved with soap, as grease residues and creams can prevent the hair from soaking in. Apply the finished foam by circular movements with the tip of the brush. Press the bristles quietly a little, so that the bristle tips also get between the stubble. The thicker and harder your beard hair is, the longer you should leave the foam on before shaving to avoid skin irritation. Repeat this step if necessary.

Step 4: Wash out:

Rinse your shaving brush under warm running water and put it in an airy place to dry.
